Who is Dreamer?

Dreamer is the name of a funny little creature who lives in a different world to ours. Dreamer looks a bit like a dog or mouse with the body of a child, but has no fur, has yellow skin, wears pink and blue striped pyjamas and has beautiful big round eyes.

In Dreamer’s world, things are a bit like they are in ours only they behave as though they are in a dream. In this world, the Sun, Moon, even bottles, beds and chairs are alive and sometimes get up to all sorts mischief. It’s a lot of fun to live in Dreamer’s world, but sometimes you might find that the chair you want to sit on is a bit grumpy or might run off to play with other chairs when you want to sit down.

Dreamer's World

We start our adventure by having a look at some of the things that happen in this magic world. There are colourful creatures floating around and spectacular whirling colours and shapes. The Moon is Dreamer’s friend and knows that it is very easy to get lost in this world. It sends Dreamer a magic letter, carried by a bottle. This letter will make it easy for the Moon to find Dreamer if he ever gets lost, which happens quite a lot.

Dreamer’s home is his bed which takes him on many journeys. One day it decides to run away and have its own adventure, leaving Dreamer all alone and lost at the top of a strange staircase. Dreamer starts to feel sad and afraid until a room appears with a large cup of soup on a table and a half broken door. After having breakfast, Dreamer decides to follow the door, (which slowly flies away), but ends up inside a bus shaped like a fish. After some travelling, the fish bus drops Dreamer off in a boat into what seems to be a big lake.

Meanwhile, the bottle carrying the letter is plodding along following Dreamer’s path, sometimes almost catching up, it appears, but Dreamer’s path is very windy.

Dreamer’s strange journey continues in his row boat. He passes through a large gateway where the Sun and Moon are having an argument about whose turn it is to shine and do not notice little Dreamer going through. The journey becomes harder when Dreamer has to row through a forest of giant springs and survive a terrible storm before being washed up near some reeds. Exhausted, Dreamer falls asleep and does not notice a very curious and funny duck having a bath in his boat. This makes the boat sink, leaving Dreamer to swim to a nearby island, which he makes his new home for a while.

Finally the bottle with the letter arrives and pops the letter in Dreamer’s letterbox. After trying to wake Dreamer, it wanders away. The duck arrives soon after and tries to show Dreamer the letter by placing it next to him. When Dreamer finally awakes, he does not know what the letter is for and ignores it, but the Moon is able to find him and leads him to his bed. The duck follows with the letter and becomes Dreamer’s friend. The Moon, Dreamer, bed and the duck join together and travel away for further adventures.
